Schlapp's current job doesn't involve much contact with reporters. She garnered some interest after her name came up as a possible candidate for the job of succeeding Hope Hicks in the role of communications director. The fight has been bitter. Schlapp's allies began fighting with Tony Sayegh on the news. Schlapp confronted Sayegh following the Washington Examiner printed a bad story on his character.
